The IDF said it struck the terror group’s "military infrastructure, including underground infrastructure" where the military had identified Hezbollah activity in the Beaufort Ridge area of the Nabatiyeh Governate.
"The existence of the sites and the activity within them constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon" that were reached in November, ending a period of open conflict, the military added.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported intense strikes in the wooded area of Ali al-Taher, where forest fires were later declared, and in al-Debsha, where serious damage was recorded.
According to NNA, jets fired "a large number of missiles," with images showing thick columns of smoke rising into the sky.
Residents of northern Israel reportedly heard the impacts of the strikes from dozens of miles away.
The strikes came as the Lebanese government pledged to take steps to disarm Hezbollah, which has effectively controlled southern Lebanon for decades. Hezbollah has vowed not to surrender its weapons.
The Lebanese government is expected on Sunday to come up with a plan to convince Hezbollah to disarm, US envoy Tom Barrack said Tuesday.

IDF destroys building in south Lebanon it says was used by Hezbollah
[IsraelTimes] IDF forces destroyed a building last night being used by the Hezbollah terror group in the town of Ayta ash Shab in southern Lebanon, the military says in a statement.
According to the IDF, the building was also the home of a Hezbollah operative, Muhammad Husayn Qasim, who was killed about a week ago after troops identified him working to rebuild Hezbollah infrastructure in the area.

The military says the operative was targeted at a “significant” site for the terror group.
The IDF says the terrorist was acting in violation of the ceasefire agreement reached in November between Israel and Lebanon.
The Lebanese government agreed last month to move ahead with a US-backed plan for the Lebanese army to disarm Hezbollah, although the terror group has vowed to resist.
