This was reported on August 30 by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The joint group of troops continues its non-stop offensive along almost the entire front line. Since March, more than 3.5 thousand square kilometers of territory and 149 populated areas have been liberated," Gerasimov said.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces reported that by now the Russian Armed Forces have liberated 99.7% of the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic, 79% of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic, 74% of the territory of the Zaporizhia region and 76% of the territory of the Kherson region. Tasks to create a security zone in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions continue to be carried out. Russian troops are also advancing in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The implementation of the tasks of the special military operation will continue with offensive actions, Gerasimov said.
Regnum IA observer Sergei Adamov previously noted that Russian troops are continuing their simultaneous offensive in several directions, approaching the encirclement of key enemy defense nodes, and even Kiev's use of its last reserves seems unable to change the situation.
