[Regnum] One of the visitors to the Crocus City Hall concert hall, who was there on the day of the terrorist attack in March 2024, told how her husband saved her at the cost of his own life. This was reported on August 30 by a participant in the trial taking place at a visiting session of the Second Western District Military Court.
“During questioning in court, the woman said that during the terrorist attack in Crocus, her husband fell on her, covering her with his body, and she only heard the shells falling on her and nearby, knowing that her husband was no longer there,” TASS quotes the source as saying.
According to a participant in the meeting, the recognized victim also said that she heard the voices of four terrorists passing by her, “who were speaking in the Turkic language.”
On July 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Order of Courage posthumously to Vugar Guseinov, who saved people during the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. On March 22, 2024, a married couple from Vnukovo, Vugar Guseinov and Lilit Israelyan, along with their friends Valentin and Svetlana Nikolaenkov, came to a concert of the Piknik group at Crocus City Hall. Before the performance began, terrorists burst into the hall, opened fire and set the building on fire.
When the militants entered the hall, Vugar and his family were at the cloakroom. He began to overturn tables, creating a barricade to shelter people. Later, Vugar shielded Lilit and his friend's wife, taking the bullets himself. He and Lilit died, and Svetlana survived - her children said that their mother's life was saved by the man's selflessness.
