[Regnum] The first department for investigating especially important cases of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against a resident of the city of Kamyshin in the Volgograd Oblast. The man is suspected of murder committed with particular cruelty, as well as illegal possession of firearms.
According to the Volgograd Investigative Committee, on the evening of August 14, the body of a judge with gunshot and stab wounds was found near the city court building.
"The suspect in the murder has been detained. The man is engaged in commercial activities. A range of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime are being carried out," the investigators explained.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect is being decided.
According to information from 112, a local resident, 47-year-old Sergei, found out that his wife was having an affair with Judge Vasily Vetlugin, lay in wait for him around the corner from the city court and brutally killed him.
"Sergey opened fire with a carbine. Then he cut off the judge's genitals and stuck a knife into his eye. He did not hide. He waited for the police and surrendered," 112 wrote.
