[Regnum] The operational-tactical aviation fleet of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) has been replenished with new Su-34 fighter-bombers. This was reported on August 12 by the Rostec state corporation.
The Russian Defense Ministry received a batch of aircraft manufactured under the state defense order from the United Aircraft Corporation. The new fighters have undergone a full cycle of factory tests. They have been tested in operating modes. At the moment, they have flown to their home airfield.
Rostec CEO Oleg Yevtushenko noted that the Su-34 frontline bomber has long established itself as the best in its class. He emphasized that the aircraft's capabilities allow pilots to successfully operate in theaters of military operations and use unguided and guided air weapons.
“The aircraft is in demand in modern combat conditions; our aircraft factories have increased the rate of production and are ensuring the rhythmic supply of equipment to the troops,” Yevtushenko added.
The Su-34 fighter-bomber is designed to destroy ground, sea and air targets, infrastructure facilities covered by air defense systems and located at significant distances from the base airfield. It can also be used to perform aerial reconnaissance missions.
