Gov. Kathy Hochul renames Central Park subway station after civil rights revolutionary Malcolm X |
2025-08-12 |
[NYPOST] New York Gov. Kathy Hochul renamed a Central Park subway station after Malcolm X, the prominent civil rights leader who was a longtime Harlem resident, as part of the city's Harlem Week celebration. That'll get her all the black votes she can handle, no doubt about it. The legislation penned by Hochul will rename the 110 St-Central Park North subway station to 110 St-Malcolm X Plaza in honor of the slain revolutionary, who lived sporadically in the neighborhood between his late teens and the final decade of his life. This year's celebration also marked the 100th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance, the era following the Great Migration where 175,000 black residents moved to the neighborhood to escape the rampant racism and Jim Crow legislation plaguing the South. ''One of the best ways to celebrate the rich history and community of Harlem is to recognize the contributions of Malcolm X and the Harlem Renaissance to New York and to the world,'' Hochul said. ''From the struggle for civil rights and equality to boundary-breaking cultural impacts of American icons like Zora Neale Hurston and Duke Ellington, Harlem has been at the center of progress in our nation for generations.'' #10 After Emancipation, in the second half of the 1800s, Booker T. Washington warned that there were far too many African-Americans PREACHING things, and far too few African-Americans DOING things. Like building things, repairing things, etc. Malcolm X lived a life of crime, went to prison, and then got out PREACHING PREACHING PREACHING about how whitey was at fault for all of his woes, and for the woes of all African-Americans everywhere. If Malcolm X were alive today, he'd be an MSNBC panelist PREACHING his B.S. or maybe he'd run for mayor of NYC. |

#7 If the rantings of the two-bit, self-loathing street hustler Malcolm Little "X" -- aka Detroit Red -- were at all accurate, then African-American families would have departed the American South ... just like Californians are departing from California today, and New Yorkers are fleeing NY, and Illinois, and Massachusetts, etc. The same warped mindset that somehow transformed George Floyd to sainthood also somehow transformed the former Malcolm Little. Try, just try!!, to calculate the damage to society that has accrued........ |

#5 Assassination of Malcolm X still hasn't been completely solved. Most researchers believe the Nation of Islam was behind the assassination. |

#3 Why the Subway Still Floods in New York After Billions in Renovations The New York City subway was inundated with rain on Monday night from severe storms, upending rush-hour commutes as water gushed onto platforms and trains and, in one station, shot up from a manhole like a geyser. |

#2 So X marks the spot. ------------- ^ #1 BTW: There were far more FREED Black Slaves walking around in the South, than up North, before the Civil War. OBTW: Many Freed Black Slaves, went on to own their own slaves. |

#1 Roughly half of all African-Americans live in the American South -- from 1865 until today. They were perfectly free to leave, and some did, but the vast majority have stayed to this day. No mass exodus. What's that tell you? |
