Ukrainian military have achieved success in the Sumy region in the areas of several settlements. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational report as of 16:00 on Monday, August 11.
In total, 65 combat clashes with Russian invaders have occurred on the front since the beginning of the day in 12 directions. Thus, in the Severo-Slobodskoye (Sumy region – ed.) and Kursk directions today the enemy carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 11 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 123 shellings, including five from MLRS.
"At the same time, our units carried out active operations in the areas of several populated areas of the Sumy region, and were successful, advancing up to 400 meters in some areas and inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower," the statement said.
In the Yuzhno-Slobodskoy direction, three armed clashes occurred in the areas of Vovchansk and Kolodeznoye.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy once tried to advance in the Stepnaya Novosyolovka area.
There were five armed clashes in the Liman direction, one of which is still ongoing. The enemy attacked in the areas of the settlements of Ridkodub, Karpovka, Kolodezi and in the direction of Yampol.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy launched an attack in the Grigoryevka area, which has already been successfully stopped.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out offensive actions three times in the areas of Stupochki, Stepanovka and Rusiny Yar. One combat clash continues to this day.
In the Toretsk direction, two assaults were stopped in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbinovka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops have stormed the areas of the settlements of Poltavka, Popov Yar, Mayak, Dorozhnoye, Novoye Shakhovoye, Novoekonomicheskoye, Suhetskoye, Rodinskoye, Promen, Lisovka, Zvirovo, Orekhovoye, Dachnoye 23 times. Our defenders have already repelled 18 attacks, the fighting continues.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, nine enemy attacks have been repelled near the settlements of Volnoye Pole, Maliyevka, Voskresenka and in the direction of Ivanovka and Novoivanovka. Three more enemy attacks are ongoing.
In the Orekhov direction, the invader twice attempted to advance forward in the Kamenskoye area and in the direction of Novodanilovka.
In the Dnieper direction, the aggressor carried out six unsuccessful attacks.
The day before it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had liberated the village of Bezsalivka in the Sumy region. Units of the 33rd separate assault regiment and the 24th separate assault battalion were involved in the operation.
