It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , announced on Thursday the closure of the main road to the Abida tribe in Ma’rib and their businesses in response to the continued detention of Mohsen bin Hussein al-Attas for nearly two years. A statement issued by the Hadhramaut’s Nahd and al-Attas tribes explained that the road closure came after the deadline for al-Attas’ release expired, which was agreed upon at a meeting held at the end of last July. The road closure decision took effect in the al-Manba’ath area of Wadi al-Ain and Hawrah on Thursday, preventing the return of gas tankers to Marib. The statement threatened to take further escalatory measures if the kidnapped person is not released. |
