[Korrespondent] The Russians are concentrating their assault efforts on the Pokrovsky direction. There, the Defense Forces have already repelled 38 attacks.
Since the beginning of the day and as of 22:00, 153 combat clashes have occurred on the front. Russian troops continue to exert the strongest pressure on the Pokrovsky direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational report on Sunday, August 3.
In the Severo-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 attacks by Russians, and 4 more combat clashes are ongoing. The enemy launched seven air strikes, dropped a total of 17 guided air bombs and carried out 216 artillery attacks, including 17 from a multiple launch rocket system.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, the Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy assaults in the areas of Volchansk, Kutkovka, Figolovka and Krasny Pervy.
The enemy attacked Ukrainian fortifications in the Kupyansk direction 9 times – in the areas of Golubovka, Petrovpavlovka, Novoosinove, Stepova Novoselovka and Novaya Kruglyakovka.
In the Liman direction, Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders 25 times near Karpovka, Olgovka, Redkodub, Torskoye, Grigorovka, in the direction of Srednee, Cherneshchyna, Shandrigolovoe. Six combat clashes continue.
In the Seversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four enemy attacks near Grigorovka, Serebryanka and Seversk. One combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks near Chasovy Yar, Markovy and in the direction of Belaya Gora and Stupochki.
In the Toretsk direction, the occupiers stormed the defenders’ positions 13 times in the areas of Rusiny Yar, Shcherbinovka, Katerinovka and in the direction of Aleksandro-Kalinove.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 38 assault and offensive actions during the day. The activity of Russian occupiers was observed in the areas of the settlements of Popov Yar, Novoekonomichnoe, Mirolyubovka, Zverovoe, Kotlino, Udachnoe, Orekhovoe, in the direction of the settlements of Novoukrainka, Novopodgorodnoe, Rodinskoe, Chervony Liman. The fighting does not subside in two locations.
In the Novopavlovskoye direction, the invaders carried out 14 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops, trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Zaporizhzhya, Novokhatskoye, Voskresenka, Zelenoye Pole, Mirnoye, Maliyevka, Temirovka, Novopol and in the direction of the settlement of Levadnoye. One combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Dnieper direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy attacks.
While in other areas there have been no significant changes in the situation.
The General Staff noted the Ukrainian soldiers of the 39th separate coastal defense brigade, who are steadfastly holding back the enemy.
Let us recall that at present the most difficult situation is on the front in the Pokrovsk, Dobropolsk and Novopavlovsk directions, where the Russians are resorting to the tactics of "total infiltration" with an increase in sabotage actions in the Ukrainian rear.
