| #3 Her career was derailed by Bogart after she out acted Lauren Bacall in "The Big Sleep." She was supposed to have a much larger role as the younger sister of Bacall's character. After seeing how much better an actress she was, Bogart demanded that most of her scenes be cut from the finished film. At the time, there was nobody bigger in Hollywood even John Wayne. The studio had no choice but to accede to his demands. |
