"As of today, mobilization continues according to plan. This is true. It is also very important to understand that 90% of mobilization is happening absolutely normally - people, receiving summonses, come to serve. They are not grabbed, they are not pulled. Having received the document, they come to the TCC, register and go to training centers," he said.
According to Shmyhal, the media mainly displays "that small, scandalous percentage," and this plays against Ukraine, its independence and national security. The Internet creates the impression that the entire mobilization reflects only "5-10% of the scandal," while in reality "90% of the mobilization is a conscious decision by Ukrainians."
Shmyhal also answered a question about class stratification in the context of mobilization, drawing attention to the fact that the army includes both businessmen and people from villages.
"The army is a reflection of Ukrainian society. I don't have any research results yet, I say this intuitively. But I just don't want us to live in Russian propaganda and myths," the minister said.
He added that mobilization is a complex process, so it is the constitutional duty of every citizen.
"Nobody likes war. And Ukrainians did not start this war, we want to live in a peaceful country. But we must defend this right to live in a peaceful country," the head of the Ministry of Defense concluded.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the largest mobilization in Ukraine. According to him, it was carried out in 2024.
