[Regnum] On Wednesday, July 23, the Russian Navy began the July Storm exercises involving more than 150 warships from the Northern, Pacific, and Baltic fleets, as well as the Caspian Flotilla. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
“From July 23 to 27, under the general leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, the Navy’s operational exercise “July Storm” is being conducted in the waters of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Baltic and Caspian Seas, involving forces from the Northern, Pacific, Baltic fleets and the Caspian flotilla,” the department reported.
During the maneuvers, it is planned to check the readiness of the fleets to solve non-standard operational tasks, use long-range weapons, drones and modern models of military equipment. The ship crews will also practice deployment to combat areas, anti-submarine operations and defense of basing areas and maritime economic activity.
In addition, during the exercises, the Russian Navy will conduct training to repel attacks by unmanned boats, air attack vehicles, and drones of a simulated enemy.
The maneuvers will involve 150 warships and support vessels, 120 aircraft, 10 coastal missile systems, 950 units of military and special equipment, and more than 15 thousand military personnel will also take part in them.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, the Russian Navy conducted the Friendship Bridge 2025 exercises with the participation of the Egyptian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea from April 6 to 10. The crews of the two countries' ships worked out elements of defense against high-speed naval craft and conducted air defense training, as well as repelling attacks by mock enemy aircraft.
Before that, on March 20, a detachment of Russian Navy ships conducted joint naval exercises PASSEX "Arabian Monsoon" with the Pakistani Navy in the Arabian Sea. Russia was represented by the corvettes "Rezkiy", "Geroy Rossiyskoy Federatsii Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" of the Pacific Fleet.
