CODECO is a loose association of ethno-religious Lendu militia groups in the DRC. The name is an abbreviation of Cooperative for Development of the Congo, or slightly less expansively the Congo Economic Development Cooperative. Started as an agricultural cooperative, it evolved into a rebel movement by the end of the 20th century. The religious side contains mystical elements of animism, Christianity, and worship of their founder, who died in 2020.
