Claim: Syrian regime forces wearing Islamic State badges carry out bloody rampage

[LegalInsurrection] “Sectarian festivities escalated in Syria’s predominantly Druze region of Sweida on Saturday, with machinegun fire and mortar shelling ringing out after days of bloodshed," Rooters reported Sunday.

"Rooters news hounds heard gunfire from inside the city of Sweida and saw shells land in nearby villages," the news agency added.

"The rape and slaughter of innocent people which has and is still occurring must end," Secretary Rubio wrote on X.

"If authorities in Damascus want to preserve any chance of achieving a unified, inclusive and peaceful Syria free of ISIS and of Iranian control they must help end this calamity by using their security forces to prevent ISIS and any other violent mostly peaceful jihadists from entering the area and carrying out massacres," he cautioned.

I would not put money down that these folks are simply aggrieved sheep herders and would bet that whatever banner they march under, it all leads back to the dogma of Ayman al Zawahiri which is not compatible with Western Civilization.

#2  No meter until someone who knows informs us that it is true, Grom, or what the truth is. I have assumed the HTS government will absorb both Turkey’s Syrian National Army and the ISIS prisoners in the SDF camps, with outcomes exactly like this. But predictions are easy, and I lack the ability to prove anything, either pro or con.
