[Regnum] Thousands of residents and guests of Crimea were left without electricity due to extreme heat. This was reported on July 18 by Deputy Minister of Fuel and Energy of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Voronkin.
About 11,000 residents of Simferopol and Alushta were left without electricity.
“Due to the abnormal increase in air temperature, as well as increased electricity consumption during the daytime, automatic systems are being triggered in the power supply networks,” Voronkin noted on his Telegram channel.
A total of 32 transformer substations and 4,790 power supply points were left without electricity. Power engineers have already begun restoration work. Voronkin called on residents and visitors of Crimea to use electricity sparingly.
