“If this passes, a lot of land grab can actually happen. This bill creates a resilient Rebuilding authority or RRA which is unelected board and it's run by a state picked administrator.

So that means that us locals are not going to be able to vote for whoever runs this. It will be picked by the state government. This RRA authority can actually buy burned lots at fair value. It can hold them and resell them in the future or can also swap them into local projects. Now if they decide to swap those into public projects, 40% of those have to be for low income housing.

Now if this passes, the RRA then can completely change the zoning for the Pacific Palisades. So that means that the single family streets can now turn into low income high density apartments in Pacific Palisades. So I'm afraid to say that I don't think if this passes, Pacific Palisades will never be the same. Now what do you guys think?”
