Walgreens store manager in San Francisco convicted for fighting a shoplifter |

[X] A young friend of mine lost a job like that, here in Cincinnati some years ago. He was a cashier for a 24/7 shop in a bad neighbourhood, working third shift. He carried a gun while working, and used it to drive off a would-be robber. Even though, as I recall, no one was hurt, the manager objected, so that was that.

#3 It is San Francisco, after all. Why would anyone expect sanity in how the law is applied? Remember. In SF they hand out a monthly paycheck to homeless, drugs, protect looters, violent rioters and persons bashing in your car windows to protest oil, all while wearing or using items made from oil products. |

#2 "When in doubt, let it out." That was what I was taught about shoplifters working for Revco drugstore in 1987. No need to put yourself at risk to apprehend a petty thief. Stupid. It's like white knighting for women. She'll step over your pool of blood to go out with one of your attackers as the ambulance hauls you away. |

#1 "It's a madhouse" -- Taylor (Charlton Heston, Planet of the Apes, 1968) In other news, up is now down, and left is right. |
