"The residents of Lvov and Lvovsky District suffered the most. About 2,000 people have been without power for the second day already, and one water intake has not yet been launched," Khinshtein said.
An emergency response center has been operating since July 12 to help the victims. Most homes have now had their electricity restored.
Power supply continues to be restored in Khomutovsky, Kurchatovsky and Zheleznogorsk districts. In total, households in 50 settlements remain without power. The Rylsky district was also damaged by the hurricane, Khinshtein reported. The main damage has been repaired.
According to the acting governor of the Kursk region, Rosseti is increasing the number of emergency teams that eliminate breaks in the network. Electricity supply will be fully restored by the end of this day.
“This morning I contacted the head of PJSC Rosseti Centre, Boris Ebzeev, and we agreed that, if necessary, teams from other regions would be sent,” Khinshtein added.
Earlier, Regnum News Agency reported that in Lgov, Kursk Region, more than 2,000 houses were left without electricity due to a hurricane. Also, as a result of the bad weather, the roofs of 20 houses were damaged, two industrial buildings and two cars were damaged, and the wind knocked down 12 trees.
On July 9, at the height of abnormal heat in the central regions of Russia, a strong hurricane passed through several regions. In Yaroslavl, a child was seriously injured, crushed by a lamp post. In the Moscow region, a tree torn out by the wind damaged a car with people inside – a 12-year-old girl was injured.
