| Katz, Zamir Hail War Against Iran As ‘Defining Milestone' In Israel's History |

| [IsraelTimes] Defense Minister Israel Katz and Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir on Friday praised Israel’s achievements during the conflict with Iran, saying the war represented a historic turning point in Israel’s defense against Tehran’s most dangerous threats. The two released separate statements one day after a joint situational assessment on the matter, with Katz hailing the 12-day conflict as a strategic triumph, saying, “The IDF achieved remarkable successes in thwarting Iran’s nuclear program and missile production system — the two threats that posed the greatest danger to Israel.” He added: “The IDF must prepare both intelligence-wise and operationally to ensure air superiority over Tehran and to prevent Iran from rebuilding its capabilities.” |

| #2 They’re right. The war is not over, when Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran itself are already working to rearm so they can resume. What Israel has accomplished thus far is astounding, especially given that she was hobbled by concerned enemies beyond the immediate battlefields, by equally and similarly concerned friends, and by a loud contingent of her citizens demanding she give Hamas anything to get the hostages back, including some within the military establishment. But this is only the eye of the storm. All three parties will break their truces as soon as they are ready to resume, so hopefully President Trump understands that, and underneath the surface bluster he and Bibi are plotting nefarious deeds once again. |

| #1 “The IDF must prepare both intelligence-wise and operationally to ensure air superiority over Tehran and to prevent Iran from rebuilding its capabilities.” This policy goal would clash with the US sponsored and guaranteed ceasefire. Maybe Israel gets accorded some leeway as Iran's continuing asymmetrical and proxy war technically also violates the ceasefire. |
