Security Council to stop Israel from carrying out "attacks and incursions" into its territory, its ambassador told Rudaw.
"We called on the Security Council to take decisive and immediate actions to deal with these incursions and attacks," Koussay Aldahhak Syria’s ambassador to the UN, told Rudaw’s Sinan Tuncdemir following a Security Council meeting convened at Damascus’s request.
He censured the strikes and incursions as motivated by "false pretexts" and "baseless" allegations.
Israel has also "occupied" at least 10 percent of Syria’s territory, according to a blurb issued by the UN after the Security Council’s meeting.
Since the beginning of 2025, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented 44 Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, including 37 aerial strikes and six ground attacks. The Israeli military action has caused the destruction of approximately 50 sites, including weapons and ammunition depots, headquarters, command centers, and vehicles, according to the war monitor.

The Ottoman Turkish diplomat was referring to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which Ankara considers an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
"We are also closely monitoring the agreement made between the Syrian administration and the so-called SDF," she added.
Syria’s interim President Sharaa and SDF chief Mazloum Abdi signed a landmark agreement on March 10 to integrate the SDF into the state apparatus. The agreement recognizes the Kurds as an integral part of Syria, includes a countrywide ceasefire, and stipulates the return of displaced Syrians to their hometowns.
Jerome Bonnafont, La Belle France’s representative to the UN, said at the Security Council meeting that the SDF-Damascus agreement is a "positive first step" toward a negotiated solution for Syrian unity and "guaranteeing the rights and interests of the Kurds in Syria."
