Russian Perspective: Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (6 April 2025)

[EngMilRu] Last night, the Russian Armed Forces launched a precision strike by long-range air- and sea-based weapons as well as strike unmanned aerial vehicles against the central artillery base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the defence industry enterprises involved in the production of UAVs.

The goal of the strike was achieved. All the targets were engaged.

In Belgorod direction, the Sever Group of Forces has engaged formations of two mechanised brigades, one assault regiment of the AFU and one territorial defence brigade close to Krasnopolye, Petrushevka, Turya, Maryino, Ugroyedy, Prokhody, Shevchenkovo, and Miropolskoye (Sumy region).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 65 troops, four armoured fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, and four field artillery guns. Ammunition and fuel depots were eliminated.

The Zapad Group of Forces' units improved the tactical situation along the front line. Strikes were delivered at manpower and hardware of one mechanised brigade of the AFU, two territorial defence brigades, and one border detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine near Radkovka, Dvurechanskoye, Zagoruykovka (Kharkov region), and Makeyevka (Lugansk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 230 troops, three U.S.-made MaxxPro armoured fighting vehicles, four pickup trucks, and four field artillery guns, to include two Western-made guns. One electronic warfare station and one ammunition depot have been neutralised.

The Yug Group of Forces' units improved the tactical situation. Formations of five mechanised brigades, one airmobile brigade, and one assault brigade of the AFU suffered losses near Seversk, Ivanopolye, Katerinovka, Tarasovka, Pleshcheyevka, and Kleban Byk (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 280 troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, 17 motor vehicles, and three field artillery guns, to include one U.S.-made 155mm M777 howitzer.

Two electronic warfare stations, ammunition and materiel depots were eliminated.

Units of the Tsentr Group of Forces continued advancing into the depth of enemy defences. The Russian troops inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of three mechanised brigades, one airborne brigade, two assault brigades, two jaeger brigades, one UAV brigade, one assault regiment of the AFU, two naval infantry brigades, one national guard brigade and an Omega special forces team close to Kotlyarovka, Lenina, Novopavlovka, Zeleny Kut, Elizavetovka, Dimitrov, Novoekonomicheskoye, Udachnoye, Krasnoarmeysk, Zverevo, Novosergeyevka, and Petrovskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 430 troops, seven armoured fighting vehicles, one pickup truck, and five artillery guns.

The Vostok Group's units have taken more favourable lines and positions. Strikes were delivered at manpower and hardware of four mechanised brigades, one air assault brigade, one airmobile brigade, one mountain assault brigade of the AFU, one naval infantry brigade, and one territorial defence brigade near Komar, Razliv, Poddubnoye, Bogatyr, Karla Marksa (Donetsk People's Republic), Yanvarskoye, Gavrilovka (Dnepropetrovsk region), and Marfopol (Zaporozhye region).

The AFU losses amounted to more than 130 troops, one tank, four motor vehicles, one recovery vehicle, and three field artillery guns, to include one Swedish-made 155mm Archer self-propelled artillery system. One materiel depot was destroyed.

The Dnepr Group of Forces' units took more advantageous lines and positions, defeated formations of one mountain assault brigade, one coastal defence brigade of the AFU and one terror defence brigade near Kamenskoye (Zaporozhye region), Ponyatovka, Pridneprovskoye, and Veletenskoye (Kherson region).

Over 65 troops, one infantry fighting vehicle, three motor vehicles, four electronic warfare stations, and one ammunition depot have been neutralised.

Operational-Tactical Aviation, strike drones, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged the infrastructure of the military airfield, the repair and maintenance facility for Western equipment, the enterprise of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, ammunition depots, missile and artillery weapons, UAV command posts as well as clusters of manpower, hardware and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas during the day.

Air defence systems shot down one U.S.-made JDAM aerial guided bomb and 100 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 660 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 50,082 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,701 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,534 MLRS combat vehicles, 23,276 field artillery guns and mortars, and 33,714 units of support military vehicles have been neutralised.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise AFU formations on the territory of Kursk region.

The Sever Group of Forces liberated Basovka (Sumy region) during the offensive.

Moreover, strikes were delivered at formations of one mechanised brigade, one tank brigade, three air assault brigades, and one territorial defence brigade of the AFU close to Gornal, Guyevo, and Oleshnya.

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, and Artillery strikes engaged AFU manpower and hardware close to Gornal, Guyevo, Oleshnya, Basovka, Belovody, Budivelnoye, Vladimirovka, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Loknya, Miropolskoye, Sadki, Shalygino, Yunakovka, and Yablonovka in Sumy region.

The AFU losses amounted to more than 170 troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, 12 motor vehicles, three UAV command posts, and one ammunition depot.

Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk direction, the AFU losses amounted to more than 72,320 troops, 404 tanks, 331 infantry fighting vehicles, 296 armoured personnel carriers, 2,254 armoured fighting vehicles, 2,630 motor vehicles, 595 artillery guns, 53 MLRS launchers, including 13 of HIMARS and seven of MLRS made by the USA, 26 anti-aircraft missile launchers, one self-propelled anti-aircraft system, ten transport-loading vehicles, 123 EW stations, 18 counter-fire radars, ten air defence radars, 56 units of engineering and other materiel, including 23 counterobstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, five bridge launchers, one engineering reconnaissance vehicle as well as 15 armoured recovery vehicles, and one command post vehicle.

The operation to neutralise the AFU units is in progress.
