[Regnum] The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched a ground military operation in the Ash-Shujaiya area, which is located in the east of Gaza City in the northern part of the sector of the same name. This was reported on April 4 by the army press service.
"In the past few hours, IDF troops have launched a ground operation in the al-Shuja'iya area in northern Gaza with the aim of expanding the security zone," the statement said.
It is noted that during the operation, the Israeli military destroyed numerous fighters and facilities of the Palestinian Hamas movement, including a command and control center for planning and carrying out attacks.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, on April 2, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the expansion of IDF military operations in the Gaza Strip. Against this backdrop, he called on residents of the Palestinian enclave to begin overthrowing Hamas and facilitate the return of Israeli hostages.
On March 27, the Israeli military launched a ground operation near the Gaza Strip town of Rafah to “expand the security zone.” Later, on April 1, the UN accused the IDF of killing 15 medical workers and rescue workers in the Gaza Strip. Vehicles of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Civil Defense workers were shot at by the Israeli army in Rafah.
