[Regnum] The most severe frosts since the beginning of spring hit Moscow on the night of March 16, and “January frosts” were recorded in the Moscow region, said meteorologist and leading specialist at the Phobos weather center Evgeny Tishkovets.
The thermometer at the capital's VDNKh weather station showed -5.2, which corresponds to the climate norm for March, Tishkovets noted. In other areas of Moscow, temperatures from -1 to -8.7 were recorded.
"In the Moscow region, the range of night temperatures was from -4.7 in Dmitrov to -15.7 in Serebryanye Prudy, and this corresponds to the long-term January figures. It was also winter-like cold in other regions of Central Russia, which found themselves in a bag of radiation cold," the meteorologist reported on his Telegram channel.
In particular, in the Tula and Ryazan regions, temperatures down to -12.5 were recorded in some places, in the Kaluga region - down to -13.6, in the Vladimir region - down to -11.6 degrees, Tishkovets noted.
