[Regnum] The diesel-electric submarine Magadan of the Pacific Fleet (PF) performed a deep-sea dive (DSD) to a depth of 240 m in Avacha Bay off the coast of Kamchatka. This was reported on February 6 by the press service of the PF.
“During the GVP, the operation of all the submarine’s mechanisms and systems was tested, and an algorithm for operating the ship at great depths was worked out,” the statement said.

The submarine crew, having successfully completed the underwater part of the exercise, surfaced and continued to operate within the framework of the fleet's combat training plan. The corvette Gremyashchiy and the rescue vessel Georgy Kozmin also provided support for the tasks, the press service specified.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, the newest Project 636.3 submarine Magadan was laid down in November 2019. It was launched in March 2021, and in October it joined the Russian Navy. The submarine's endurance is 45 days, maximum diving depth is 300 m, underwater speed is 18 knots, and the crew is 52 people.
The Magadan submarine is also equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles. It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of 1,000 km. The corresponding tests were conducted in the Sea of Japan.
