| [IsraelTimes] Speaking at the scene of this morning’s deadly shooting attack in the northern West Bank, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi says the army will ramp up and expand military operations in the area. “This is a difficult attack in which we lost two reserve soldiers. We will investigate and learn lessons, some of them have already been implemented,” he says. “We will increase the operations to thwart [attacks], and expand them to additional areas,” Halevi adds. Palestinian media: Gunman in Tuesday’s deadly West Bank attack is brother of slain Islamic Jihad commander [IsraelTimes] The perpetrator of yesterday’s deadly shooting attack at an IDF checkpoint near the northern West Bank village of Tayasir is identified by Palestinian media as Muhammad Daraghmeh. Muhammad is reportedly the brother of Ahmad Daraghmeh, who was the commander of a local wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the area, known as the Tubas Battalion. He was killed by the IDF in February 2024. Israeli defense authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the gunman who killed two soldiers and wounded eight others in the attack.
