The Trump administration has reportedly revoked the "temporary protected status" for thousands of Venezuelans that are currently in the U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Tuesday revoked the extension of deportation protections for over 600,000 Venezuelans, according to The New York Times, which cited a copy of the decision. President Joe Biden extended "temporary protected status" for 18 months for Venezuelans just before President Donald Trump took office Jan. 20. "Temporary protected status" or TPS is given to foreign citizens who cannot go back to their home country due to war or natural disasters. Trump requested TPS designations be reviewed in an executive order titled "Protecting the American People Against Invasion."
