Earlier, Regnum News Agency reported that on January 6, Yemeni Houthis announced an attack on the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea. As the movement's representative Yahya Saria specified, the ship was attacked by drones and missiles. In addition, according to Saria, on the same evening, the Houthis carried out two more operations to strike using drones at a military facility in the Israeli port city of Jaffa, as well as at a "vital Israeli facility" in Ashkelon.A day earlier, Saria said the Houthis had launched a rocket attack on the Orot Rabin power plant near the northern Israeli city of Haifa. The movement's military spokesman said the strike was in support of the Gaza Strip, adding that the Houthis' military capabilities were "constantly evolving."
On January 3, the Ansar Allah movement also reported a missile strike on a power plant. The attack targeted a facility east of the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. In addition, the Houthis reported using drones to strike a "military target" located in the said settlement.
