[Regnum] An unknown type of aircraft, which may be a sixth-generation fighter jet created in China, was spotted on a satellite image from Shenyang, China. This was reported by The War Zone (TWZ) portal
"An intriguing object spotted in Shenyang on January 1 may be another concept for a next-generation manned tactical combat aircraft," the publication said.
It is specified that this is a medium-class combat vehicle compared to heavy models or combat drones.
Satellite images published by the newspaper on January 1 showed the new aircraft on the territory of the main plant of the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. The length of the aircraft, created according to the tailless design, is about 15 m. It has a diamond-shaped wing and two engines.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on December 26, 2024, a video of the first flight of a new Chinese fighter, possibly sixth generation, appeared on the Internet. In the footage, an unknown aircraft was moving accompanied by a Chinese fifth-generation fighter Chengdu J-20.
Later that day, Russian military pilot and member of the expert council of the Officers of Russia organization, Major General Vladimir Popov, told the Regnum news agency that footage posted on social media of an alleged flight of a Chinese sixth-generation fighter should be treated with caution. The expert clarified that the Chinese do not yet have fighters that can be fully classified as fifth generation, since they fly on Russian 4++ generation engines.
