Islamist leader says Syrian rebel factions to be ‘disbanded,’ folded into army
2024-12-17
[IsraelTimes] Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham Islamist group that toppled Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, says that rebel factions in the war-torn country will be disbanded and their fighters will join regular army units.

“The factions will be disbanded and the fighters trained to join the ranks of the defense ministry, and all will be subject to the law,” Jolani, who now uses his real name Ahmed al-Sharaa, said on Telegram.

#9  Do you have a link for Ms Adams, jefe101?

#8  IF you follow Sara Adams, she stated about 10k afghan trained (by AL Q) fighters folded into the Syrian rebels. The whole thing is a colab with Al Q at the head hiding behind various groups like former ISIS, who "take the blame/credit", that's why it's hard to put a finger on who the rebels all are. The Caliphate is the goal, so a "stabilized" Syria will allow those Afghan trained fighters to + up their ranks and turn most likely towards Iraq. There will be massacres, as their are in Afghanistan now, unlikely it will be reported on.

#7  Soon we will see the half million Christians in Syria mass murdered. Only a matter of time. Something our CIA has set up time and time again.

#6  About HTS civility and human rights:

… acts of barbarism on par with ISIS and Hamas. The worst part? They record these atrocities and proudly share them.

Are such actions even permissible in Islam? Maybe Assad committed horrific acts, but these new groups seem just as bad, if not worse.

Is this what the “free Syrian people” are celebrating?

It doesn’t look good for Syria at all. I think I’m done for the day.

#4   Territory will not be used to launch attacks against Israel

Definitely savvier. They can see all around what happens to those who do, under the new rules where Israel doesn’t trade land for “peace”.

#2   will there be a long-lasting government based on civility and human rights?

They’re jihadis. This group is savvier and more overtly polite than ISIS, but their objective is the same, it seems to me.

Bashir al Assad and his father were Arab National Socialists. The party planned to rule the Arab world, including a conquered Israel, and at one point looked like they were on their way, with Iraq, Syria and Egypt.

#1  So the rebels become the Authority and get renamed.

The major question is:
Do we have 💩 replacing 💩?
Or will there be a long-lasting government based on civility and human rights?
