[Regnum] A magnitude 5.0 earthquake has struck the southern Turkish province of Adana, the Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) reported on October 27.
The AFAD report said that the tremors occurred in the Kozan region at 20:07 Moscow time. The earthquake's source was located at a depth of 20.13 km.
"AFAD and all teams of our relevant institutions immediately began to study the area. At the moment, there is no negative situation," wrote the head of the Interior Ministry of the republic, Ali Yerlikaya, on the social network H.
On October 16, Regnum news agency reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 had occurred in the eastern part of Turkey. The tremors were recorded at 07:46 (10:46 Moscow time) at a distance of 46 km to the east of the city of Malatya, where about 441 thousand people live. The earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 9 km.
On September 22, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the western Argentine province of San Luis. Its epicenter was located 158 km northwest of the city of San Luis, home to about 183,000 people.
