US court rules boneless chicken wings don't have to be bone-free |

![]() Earlier this week, the court clarified that the term "boneless wings" refers to a cooking style and should not be interpreted literally. In 2016, Michael Berkheimer had visited the restaurant with his wife and friends at a restaurant in Hamilton, Ohio, where he ordered what has been described as his "usual" — boneless wings with parmesan garlic sauce, the BBC reported. He noticed a piece go down uncomfortably. Three days later, he began to feel feverish and went to the emergency room. Doctors discovered a long, thin bone that caused a tear in his oesophagus and a subsequent infection. This led to Berkheimer filing a lawsuit and accusing the restaurant of failing to warn him that the "boneless wings" might contain bones. He also accused the supplier and the farm that produced the chicken of negligence. Lower courts had dismissed Berkheimer's suit, which then landed in the state's supreme court. The top court's 4-3 decision emphasised that it is common sense to exercise caution for the potential presence of bones in boneless wings. |

#7 It’s the farm’s fault their chicken came with bones? |

#6 I wish there were a place that made boneless turkey wings. The texture of the turkey works really well and retains a lot of taste. |

#5 In case it matters to anyone, the restaurant in question is Wings on Brookwood, according to CBS News, a family owned restaurant whose menu contains variations on hamburgers, sandwiches, and deep fried chicken wings. I imagine their chicken wings are poured out of big restaurant supply freezer bags, rather than being individually cut off the carcasses of freshly slaughtered, free range birds. |

#4 pretty sure that Popeyes, 7-11 and other major chains have removed all the bones or ground them so they are indistinguishable from the chicken also pretty sure that when you sit at a table at a restaurant you cut the individual pieces with a knife but whatever |

#3 "Boneless Wings are chicken nuggets for adults" So what the judge is saying, is that the restaurant can serve cricket chunks because boneless chicken wings is a technique. Madness. |

#1 boneless chicken wings don't have to be bone-free And you don't have to stick to the gender you've been born with. But, for some odd reason, you can't change your race. |
