Baltic Fleet ship Smolny entered the port of Havana
[Regnum] The Baltic Fleet training ship Smolny entered the port of Havana on July 27.
Salutatory salvos were fired. The ship was greeted in return from the port fortress. The patrol vessel Neustrashimy and the tanker Yelnya followed the Smolny.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, a detachment of Northern Fleet ships arrived in Cuba on June 12 for an unofficial visit as part of international cooperation. The frigate Admiral Gorshkov, the nuclear submarine Kazan, the tanker Akademik Pashin and the rescue tug Nikolai Chiker entered the port of Havana.
The Russian ships interested the residents of Havana. Many Cubans visited the port, they were able to inspect the ships and take photos. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel visited the Admiral Gorshkov and Kazan. On June 17, the frigate and the nuclear submarine left Havana.
As the Kremlin noted, the visit of naval ships to Cuba is a common practice, especially for such a large maritime power as Russia.
The Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba announced two days ago that the Baltic Fleet ships Smolny, Neustrashimy and Yelnya would call at the port of Havana on July 27. The working visit will last until July 30. Cubans will be able to board the Smolny on July 28 and 29.

Indian Navy frigate INS Tabar arrives in St. Petersburg
The frigate INS Tabar (Battle Axe), assigned to the Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy, arrived in Saint Petersburg to celebrate Russian Navy Day. This was reported on July 27 by the REN TV channel.
The frigate moored at the English Embankment in the Admiralty District of the Northern capital.
Previously, this ship took part in the Main Naval Parade in honor of the 325th anniversary of the Russian fleet, which took place on July 25, 2021 in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt.
The frigate INS Tabar, equipped with surface-to-air weapons systems and created using stealth technologies, was built in 2004 at the Baltic Shipyard. The frigate was put into operation on April 19 of the same year in Kaliningrad.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the first rehearsal of the Main Naval Parade for the Russian Navy Day took place on July 16 in the Neva River waters in St. Petersburg. The small missile ships Grad and Naro-Fominsk, the base minesweeper Aleksandr Obukhov, and the landing craft Aleksey Barinov took part in the parade rehearsal. The Main Naval Parade will take place on July 28 on the fairways in the Neva River waters between the Blagoveshchensky and Troitsky bridges and on the fairways in the waters of the Bolshoy Kronstadt Roadstead along the southern protective wall of the port.
On July 26, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov announced that Vladimir Putin would take part in the parade in St. Petersburg on Navy Day.

Russia and China discusses cooperation in the naval sphere
Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and Chinese Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Hu Zhongming discussed cooperation in the naval sphere. This was reported on July 27 by the press service of the Russian military department.
It is noted that Fomin held a meeting in St. Petersburg with Hu Zhongming, who arrived in Russia to participate in the Main Naval Parade.
“During the meeting, current issues of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the naval sphere were discussed,” the statement said.
The Russian military department noted that Fomin thanked the Chinese side for its active participation in the ceremonial events dedicated to Navy Day.
As previously reported by Regnum News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding the Main Naval Parade and fireworks display in St. Petersburg on Navy Day.
On July 26, the head of state's press secretary Dmitry Peskov announced that Putin would take part in the parade in St. Petersburg on Navy Day.
