[Regnum] Ukrainian authorities are trying to hide from the public the situation with the cholera epidemic in Kyiv-controlled Kherson, the head of the Kakhovka municipal district Pavlo Filipchuk said on July 1 in his Telegram channel.
According to him, at least two more people died from this disease on the right bank of the Dnieper.
"Cholera continues to kill Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen. It can't be stopped - it can't be hidden. But Kiev continues to pretend that nothing is happening," he wrote.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on June 21, the pro-Russian underground in Kherson reported an outbreak of cholera in the city. According to the underground, there were about 100 people in hospitals, mostly military personnel, and at least 12 people died from the disease.
On June 27, the press secretary of the governor of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Vasylenko, said that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to hide the outbreak of cholera in Kherson, temporarily occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, disguising it as typhus. He specified that they are not informing the population about the disease, and wells with clean water on the right bank of the Dnieper are not being serviced due to the lack of electricity.
According to the governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo, the outbreak of cholera on the right bank of the Dnieper occurred due to flooding after the Kiev regime blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station and ignored sanitary norms there. He noted that on the left bank, the Russian authorities carried out a huge range of work to disinfect and sanitize the area, while in the part of the region occupied by Kiev, no one did anything in this direction.
