| [REGNUM] Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the Palestinian-Israeli escalation. The telephone conversation took place on the evening of October 16, the Kremlin reported. The heads of state discussed the worsening crisis, the Russian leader expressed his condolences to his colleague for the death of Israeli civilians and emphasized that Moscow condemns any actions leading to civilian casualties, including women and children. According to Putin, Russia is taking steps to normalize the situation and prevent further escalation.
