Russian air defenses repel multiple coordinated drone raids – MOD |
2023-08-31 |
The Russian military has prevented a series of attempted Ukrainian drone strikes overnight, with over half a dozen unmanned aircraft shot down across five regions spanning from the Ukrainian border to Moscow, the Defense Ministry claimed early on Wednesday. I guess, they've developed tech/procedures for dealing with drones the way they've developed tech/procedures for dealing with "unstoppable HIMARS" earlier - haven't heard anything about HIMARS lately. |

#11 You know, I think you Americans are just jealous - you'd like Vlad to be your president. Nope. I don't want Putiee the Peter Puffer as president any more than the rest of these cocksuckers. |

#10 I think what most Americans want is common sense and decency as sort of a baseline and the gummint out of the business of non-stop promotion of perversion and mental instability. |

#8 According to your chap MacGreggor - Ukrainians are paying a man per square matter "conqueering" Russian kill zones. Don't know who that is but have to call bullshit on that claim. Only in WW1 did we have that many losses and only at the beginning when the units fought the old ways and bunched up before machine gun fire. The Ukrainians are taking heavier losses than when they were just defending. That is the nature of war, but I have serious doubts they are that high. I expect a 20% rise in casualties and from the videos from combat units I have seen that seems to be bearing up. Most can be healed and returned after a month or two, but many are permanently out of the fight from their injuries or death. |

#7 According to your chap MacGreggor - Ukrainians are paying a man per square matter "conqueering" Russian kill zones. p.s. If I were an American, I'd consider the actions of your leadership in making Russia an enemy - instead of an ally against China - treason. |

#6 It is a slug match Richard. Just like WW1. One side will get exhausted and collapse quickly after a time. If the West stopped supporting Ukraine, Russia will win. With the West supporting and giving weapons the Ukrainians can interdict supply lines with, Ukraine has a half decent shot at pulling a win. With the news of a breakthrough in the south, that might come sooner than later but I ain't holding my breath for this to end this year. |

#5 Both sides are blowing each other up on a regular basis, so no winners at this point in my view anyway. |

#3 And since you like 'sources' Grom, here you go: From the Sun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQD8Rqa78x4 From the Telegraph - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_4itrI7iio It is true, however, that Ukraine doesn't use the HIMARS systems so much as before being that they have new 'toys' that seem to suit their needs for a broader range of targets. The HIMARS is reserved more for larger troop concentrations and when pesky larger facilities need to be removed. |

#2 I guess, they've developed tech/procedures for dealing with drones the way they've developed tech/procedures for dealing with "unstoppable HIMARS" earlier - haven't heard anything about HIMARS lately. Doubt it. HIMARS have been artillery hunting and hitting C&C bunkers now. For the first time, Ukraine has artillery superiority in the south because of HIMARS. |

#1 Himars systems are still quite active and the military installations being targeted are helping the Russian air defense systems catch those pesky buggers before the SAM systems do. |
