Former Minister Of Information and Culture Surrenders To Taliban Forces |

[KhaamaPress] Mohammad Tahir Zaheer, former Minister of Information and Culture, has surrendered to the Taliban![]() forces, sources said. Sources confirmed to Khaama Press that Tahir Zaheere, former Minister and governor of Bamyan Province, surrendered to the Taliban forces on Wednesday. According to the report, he surrendered to the Taliban in the Dara Soof district of Samangan province. Sources also said that the Taliban forces have detained, imprisoned, and tortured Zaheer’s family members and relatives, leading to his surrender. Last year, Zaheer and the Taliban’s Hazara ...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets... leader Mawlavi Mehdi fought with the Taliban; however, after Mehdi’s death, he continued to fight with the Taliban. Still, his family has not commented on his surrender. Also, it is unclear under what condition he surrendered to the Taliban forces. Zaheeer was a former governor of Bamyan province and the former Minister of Information and Culture of the previous government. |
