[ColonelCassad] NEXTA creator Roman Protasevich received eight years in a Belarusian prison for complicity in an attempted coup in Belarus in 2020. His accomplice Putilo received 20 years in absentia.
The difference in terms is due to the fact that Protasevich actively cooperated with the KGB of Belarus and assisted the investigation, which is why he got off relatively lightly - he could easily get 20 years in this case. Well, and so - the prosecution asked for 12, the court gave 8, in 4 years he can be released on parole.
