At least five people were killed in a shooting by unknown assailants in downtown Ottawa, CTV reported on August 26, citing a source in the Canadian capital police.According to the TV channel, unidentified people opened fire near one of the local markets after the closure of nearby bars and restaurants.
In addition, it was noted that the site of the shootout is located near the complex of buildings of the national parliament.
At the scene, police found three people with gunshot wounds who needed hospitalization. Later, two more wounded people asked for medical help.
