  • Footage shows one hitting the man so hard in the face that his body goes limp

  • The NYPD are investigating the incident which took place on Friday night

  • Some posters claim the victim was targeted for molesting a girl on the train
One Twitter user, who said they had filmed the footage, replied to NYPD Transit writing: 'I am commenting on this thread because I was there and witnessed it.'

They claimed: 'The Asian man attempted to rape a young girl on the train and was stopped by the man holding him.'

The user added: 'I'm really afraid these guys are gonna get in trouble. They were good citizens stopping this man. I watch stories all day from NYC of people getting attacked and no one doing anything because they're afraid this will happen.'
