The AANES welcomes Syrian refugees’ return to Syria but to their original areas not according to Turkey’s resettling scheme that serves its own interests

’s scheme to resettle Syrians aims to maintain its own interests, and it welcomed the Syrians return to their original areas.

The AANES said that the Ottoman Turkish president’s plan to resettle Syrian refugees in Syrian areas to where they do not belong is but a plan to serve Turkey’s anti-Syrians interests.

On May 3, the Ottoman Turkish president was quoted as saying, "we are preparing a new project for the voluntary return of one million Syrian brothers who are in our country as guests."

"Turkey seeks to guarantee longer-term interests on the Syrian soil, and create adequate environment to implement its expansionist policies," the statement read.

This scheme will cause conflict and discord among Syrians as implementing the demographic change of the original inhabitants, according to the AANES.

It stressed that complicity in facilitating or contributing to the resettlement project is a real contribution to the campaign of the demographic change against the region and its people.

It called on the Syrian people not to be dragged into such aggressive plans which do not serve Syrians’ interests and harm Syria and the unity of its people.

The AANES, through its statement, welcomed the Syrian refugees’ return but to their original areas from where they were forced to flee not those to which they do not belong.
