- Thousands of mainly women and children have been uprooted from their homes after Russia invaded Ukraine
- The majority, almost 300,000, have come into Poland via eight checkpoints set up along the 300-mile border
- Ukrainians have been fleeing their homeland since Thursday when Russia launched an invasion of the country
