  • The Polk County Sheriff's Department has arrested 68 drug dealers who used gay dating apps Grindr, Scruff and Taimi to meet their clients

  • For six months, undercover detectives talked to the dealers with fake profiles

  • 'It was a shock to us that they were openly advertising,' said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd at a press conference on Thursday

  • Judd said that dealers were using codewords like 'Tina,' the ice cream emoji and the birthday cake emoji to advertise their sales

  • They seized around 280 grams of meth, 3 grams of cocaine, 130 pills of MDMA, 1.5 grams of Fentanyl/heroin and one gram of LSD

  • Many of those arrested had rap sheets - one man had 32 prior felonies

  • One of the dealers had 13 guests arrested for drug-related charges when police raided his home, and another had 14 guns seized
