US Navy launches a maternity uniform pilot for pregnant sailors: Expecting mothers can receive the uniforms from next month until 2026

  • The Navy designed a maternity uniform pilot program for its expecting members, providing them with free maternity uniforms

  • From January 2022 to September 2026, pregnant volunteers will be allowed to receive 'a full array of authorized Navy maternity uniforms'

  • Expecting sailors interested in joining the pilot program must be given approval on all medical documentation and receive commander's approval

  • More than 400 volunteers are expected to join the first pilot program in 2022

  • In July, the military also launched its historical first maternity flight suit prototype for pregnant aircrew
