[ABC7] In the June 9 incident neighbor Ray Winsor, 60, got into an argument with Adam about helping his grandmother take in the trash cans. Adam responded by stabbing Winsor seven times, resulting in a fractured skull.On Tuesday he was charged with three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a felony count of carrying a dirk or dagger. If convicted as charged, he faces a maximum sentence of nine years and eight months in state prison.
Prosecutors say Abdul-Jabbar argued with his 60-year-old neighbor, with whom he shares a driveway, on June 9. The neighbor had confronted Abdul-Jabbar about not taking in the trash cans for his elderly roommate, and Abdul-Jabbar allegedly stabbed the neighbor several times with a large hunting knife.
'I sort of got on him because the lady who takes care of him is 83-year-old, he doesn't do anything for her and it just bums me out, she's in a walker taking her trash cans down,' said to Eyewitness News in June.
