| [IsraelTimes] The Wall Street Journal reports that a US government assessment concluded that "maintenance work" likely led to last week’s Beirut port blast. The State Department assessment found no evidence of an attack on the ammonium cache or any evidence of foul play, a person familiar with the matter tells the Journal. The assessment did not specify what kind of maintenance work led to the blast but found that that it was what started the fire that ignited the ammonium nitrate. |
