was being questioned about its missile deal with Moscow. US General Curtis Scaparrotti told the Senate Armed Services Committee earlier this week that he didn’t recommend the delivery of F-35 jets to Turkey if Ankara continues with the S400 deal.
"Those who are opposing us on [the acquisition of the] S400s why are they not doing the same thing to Greece for [its] S300s? Why not to Bulgaria for [its] S300s? Why not Slovakia for [its] S300?," he queried.
"There shouldn’t be a regulation that we should buy everything from you," he added before going on to stress that Turkey was not a nation of "slaves."
