Rahm Emanuel Again Pressed to Resign After Another Bloody Weekend in Chicago |

![]() Emanuel has been condemned for his inaction as Chicago experiences more shootings and homicides. This past weekend, 42 people were shot, 5 of whom were killed. Almost 300 people have been killed in the city this year. The Chicago Tribune offered some possible causes for the bloodshed, including increased gang warfare, access to guns, police morale, and poverty. |

#4 in 2014, there were about 420 homicides in Chicago in 2015, there were about 470 homicides in Chicago the Laquan McDonald shooting which led to BLM protests was in Nov 2015 in 2016, there were about 770 homicides in Chicago in 2017, about 650 in 2018, on a pace to have about 550 too many but it is progress |

#1 The claim of Emanuel doing "little to address the violence" is a red herring. LaBron James could be elected mayor of Chicago and the violence would continue. |
