Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...said it has amputated the right hands of two Somali men accused of theft in Kunya-Barow town of Somalia’s southern Lower Shabelle region.
The men identified as Mohammed Mohammed Hassan, 54, and Hassan Mohammed Yussuf, 45, were convicted of breaking into a shop and stealing 883 US dollar by Al-Shabaab court.
The right hands of the men were amputated by a dagger-wielding Lion of Islam at a square in the town with the presence of hundreds of local residents, including women and kiddies.
In areas under its control, Al-Shabaab regularly carries outs executions by firing squad, stonings, amputations and floggings after summary trials for a range of charges.
