- He was detained by Kurdish peshmerga forces in northern Iraq in March 2016
- 27-year-old faces five years to life in prison when he is sentenced on October 13
- Khweis was reportedly asked to be a suicide bomber because he had no skills
- During his time, he cleaned up for fighters, bought groceries, and made lunches
- In February 2017, the US military recovered his ISIS intake form and a camp roster that included his name with 19 other Islamic State fighters
