Absolute first-class hand-wringing from the Guardian. What they and the rest of the progressive whingers miss is that 1) it's bloody difficult and expensive to move all the refugees to the West 2) the refugees don't really want to "assimilate" in the West (indeed, some want to conquer their hosts) and 3) it's better to fix the underlying problem(s) that led the refugees to want to leave their homelands in the first place.
Especially fix the underlying problems. But then the Guardian editors are Europeans, and they've learned to live with problems rather than solve them. |
